About

I'm a junior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Florida State University, expected to graduate in Spring 2028. I have strong interests in robotics and aerospace applications, and I plan to pursue graduate study in one of those fields. Right now I'm looking for an opportunity to gain industry experience, where I can apply the skills I've built in my coursework and research.

Research

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Robotics & Technology for Human Health & Mobility Lab (RTHM Lab) at FSU, I was first exposed to embedded systems, and I got to apply my knowledge of programming, 3D modeling and circuitry. I also picked up hands-on skills like 3D printing and soldering. My main project there is a touchscreen-controlled projectile launcher with closed-loop motor control.

Each week I presented progress updates to my professor and the other lab members, and we used those meetings to work through problems across everyone's projects. Detailed documentation of my work kept me on track with the project's goals, and it helped me solve problems by tracing back through earlier steps.

Beyond engineering

I have nearly five years of experience in the service industry, where I first started working. It taught me to stay resilient, work under pressure, take care of customers, and work together with the staff for the benefit of the restaurant and its guests.

Coursework

Relevant courses include Engineering Design Methods, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Dynamic Systems and Vibrations, and Mechanical Systems. They gave me a foundation in engineering principles and, ultimately, taught me how to think through problems as an engineer.

Projects and labs like my SOLIDWORKS capstone, the Stirling engine I modeled and machined, and dynamic systems data analysis gave me a real starting point in what mechanical engineering involves, and exposed me to the tools engineers use in industry.

Strengths

I work well on a team, I'm eager and humble enough to learn and listen, and I pay close attention to detail in my work.

Skills

  • CAD & drafting: SOLIDWORKS part and assembly modeling, dimensioned drawings with section and detail views, exploded views, BOMs
  • Technical: Python, MATLAB (data analysis), C++ (beginner), MS Office, Raspberry Pi, AI-assisted development (LLM tools)
  • Languages: fluent in English, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish
